The changing of the season is always a questionable moment in the wardrobes of many women. What to wear? How do I dress for the in-between season weather? What key pieces should I add to update my wardrobe?

These many questions I will be answering in my upcoming posts so stay tuned. I would like to share my thoughts on this coming autumns trends. Although the weather is still summery in many places, there are the curious souls. Therefore with no further waiting here I reveal one of the key trends that is also my favorite.

MOOD: Romantic, baroque, futuristic and ethereal are all words to describe the mood of fashion this season as seen in the pictures above. Designs by Anna Sui and Gucci.

COLOR HARMONY: As you may see in the Pantone Fashion Color Forecast for this fall there is something for everyone. Warm comforting colors contrast against cooler tones for an interesting palette.  Grenadine, Tawny Port Wine, Navy Peony, Shaded Spruce and Autumn Maple mostly graces a dark background of navy, black or chocolate. Ballet Slipper (a pale pink beige) and neutral grey still are staples that continue from the last seasons.

PRINTS: Futuristic cocktail frocks and everyday denim are embellished with embroidered or printed flowers, insects, birds, foliage or landscapes.

SILHOUETTE: Oversized knits are layered over a flowy, billowy skirts. Long midi dresses are fitted to the body and interesting sleeves give it an avant-garde feeling.

ACCESSORIES: Handbags, boots, jewelry continue this whimsical trend as to finish and confirm the look. The louder and more obvious the accessory, the better.

To sum it all up. Luxurious fantasy.
