FOREWORD: I am blessed for the amazing people that I have met along the way since I started fashion blogging. This post is a collaboration with Photo By Memry. Find her on Instagram . She is a fine art/lifestyle photographer based in the USA who travels throughout the world and due to this she has a unique vision that she captures through her lens. I am thrilled with the result of my photo shoot. Beautiful lighting and composition that set the setting for my faved coat. Thank you Memry. XO
Hello my friends!
I would like to dedicate this post to this coat, more specifically the designer that makes it, APPAREAL. An ethical fashion brand that makes clothing that is easy to care for, offers eco-friendly alternatives to fur and leather, uses solar-powered fabric suppliers an recycled materials wherever she can find them. This brand, made in Italy, is for the busy active ladies who don’t have time to care for delicate fabrics and won’t sacrifice luxury. Visit their website and they mention “Careful, it might be addictive”! They are so right;-)
This fashion house has decided, after making Geneva its home base, to now move to London and open their first flagship store on Portobello Road! I am sad to see them go but at the same time so glad for the brand and its global expansion.
The first time I laid my eyes on this coat in the shared spaced with other ethical fashion brands @ La Collective Geneva, I was stunned. It was not only the color combination of several smartly placed shades of olive and charcoal, it was also the playful mix of textures that seduced me. This combination of high-tech fabrics, finishes and no fuss effortless style, I would say, is the brand identity of APPAREAL. The inside of this coat is a plush faux fur in olive finished off with French seams, simply sumptuous to wear! You may see another design that I love wearing and that also embodies the DNA of APPAREAL on my Instagram page here The Valentina Dress.
Shop the look: This Spring I am loving neutrals with a shot of color. The Ygrette Coat from APPAREAL is the center-piece for this look. Since here in Geneva it is in-between season I styled it with a lightweight bright green cashmere sweater from NOTSHY, grey slim jeans custom-hemmed by me and nude strappy heels from STEVE MADDEN all the rave this Spring/Summer 2019. Classic Ray-Ban Aviators top off this edgy chic look.
Another example of how to incorporate a touch of color with neutrals is my Instagram post Lighten Up! Here the shot of color was in a detail.
I thank you for reading.
