I recently was offered a goodie bag filled with skincare and makeup to try at an event. I was thrilled to rediscover the products in 2019. I have so far tried the two lip products and I am bluffed.
Here I am reviewing my most favorite, the Mary Kay Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick. The word gel today in any cosmetic product signifies that the texture will be light, airy, shiny an long-lasting. This is so! I tried the color Rosewood. As you may see above there are several shades to please every beauty buff.
The particular color was soft to enhance my lips a shade darker without being too obvious. The texture is cushiony, hydrating. I would say it has the coverage of a gloss without being sticky and the texture of a lipstick without being cakey. The lisptick is highly pigmented and stay true to the original shade.

Every summer for the past few years I would have lash extensions done. This is due to the fact that I dislike too much makeup and heavy duty mascara in the beautiful summer lighting. Not to mention that I love to be more carefree on summer vacation and could use all the help to look good. Every year I had them done I was just satisfied with the results….. I have never had an experience with lash extensions as I had them this time around with Winkwinkable. Not only is Marie-Jo from Winkwinkable a certified lash-artist, she is the most meticulous passionate boss-lady that I have ever encountered!
This is how our meeting went:
Even before we initially met, Marie-Jo confessed to me that she had taken a screenshot of one of my Instagram face shots and worked on my eye to draw the ideal lines for lashes in the aim to correct or highlight any of my strong or weaker points of my eyes. This is a first! Just to take the time to figure out what is most flattering for the client is astounding!
I then laid down on a very comfortable heated bed to be worked on for……Yes! 3 hours always being asked how I am doing and if I am comfortable. The result? It’s how you see it in the above pictures. On the bottom left you see the before picture which when I do use mascara I have a full set of thick lashes. On the right you see the result when finished. If I, as a makeup artist, analyse well Marie-Jo’s decision to give me a weightless curved Russian volume, I think that she is trying to give me an eye lift without surgery , )
Marie-Jo is very enthusiastic and satisfied with the results as well. This is the seal of approval. As an artist myself, we have a tendency to be the most critical towards ourselves.
I am told they will last 3 weeks and that I may have a refill which I am considering. I have to admit I am getting used to always having the wide-eyed doll look.

A Pampering Sunday With Zhandumaya
Hello my friends!
We today are more and more conscious of what beauty products we use on our faces and body. Being the beauty addict that I am, how can I not be curious about cosmetics that not only are less harmful to you and your skin but also kinder to nature. I was lucky to receive a whole care package from Zhandumaya 100% natural cosmetics.
Using the products was a sensory voyage. The light textures for the Face Cleanser, Day Serum and Night Serum, although nourishing, penetrated immediately and their scent was so peaceful. Each product with it’s 100% natural ingredients like oatmeal, sweet almond milk, vitamin E, bio vegetable oils, hazelnut and papaya glazed over my skin to nourish, calm and pamper it.
The cosmetic line and its green accessories proved to me that it is possible to be well-groomed and pretty without harming our bodies and the planet (which is the question the founders of Zhandumaya asked themselves). The founders, by the way, are a mother and daughter team who have built their eco-conscious brand with love and their hands- on know how for mixing the products in the most minimalist and minimal waste packaging. When meeting them you feel a kindness and passion for the green cosmetics they make.
Here in Switzerland, as in many countries, plastic straws are being banned from use. To my son’s delight I also received bamboo reusable straws in an earthy pouch and a narrow brush to clean them. The bamboo toothbrush and its case are not only chic in design but practical for travel.

There are many matte lipsticks out the market today. I have never felt a lightness in the texture as I have with Rouge D’Armani Matte Lipstick #400-Four Hundred. A deep crimson red that doesn’t leave any doubt that one may be shy!

Who would like a little magic?
I know I wouldn’t mind a little extra help when trying to achieve perfect skin. Fée (found in the title of some of their products) in French means fairy (as if to say someone is looking over us-helping us to achieve better skin). Here is a review of the French body product line from Garancia. As I mentioned in the video below I tested them after a tough workout therefore it was a wonderful texture and sensory voyage. These products all come with catchy names that are a play of words in French for example; Fée-Moi Fondre (Make Me Melt for the anti-cellulite mousse) or Pschitt Magique Corps (Body Magic Spritz for the body exfoliator).
Here are the products in the order I used them:
First I used Pschitt Magique (Body Magic Spritz). It is a body scrub that works without the grains. I applied it in the shower on dry skin. The fluffy mousse was applied onto my skin starting at the legs and working my way up next the thighs and then the arms etc. After 30 seconds I was able to rinse of the first parts of the body that it was applied on. The result on my skin? It was smoother, luminous and revived. I would say that this is the product that I liked the least when it came to its scent.
Then I nourished and hydrated my arms and shoulders with Formule Ensorcelante Anti-Peau De Croco Crème Corps 3en1 (Bewitching Anti-Crocodile Skin Body Cream 3in1). This cream also has a gentle exfoliator to reveal better skin while also firming. It has a powdery light scent that won’t interfere with my perfume which is what I look for in a body cream.
Then I targeted specific areas (thighs, stomach) with Fée-Moi Fondre (Make Me Melt) Thats cellulite that is! This product is in a very generous bottle that is to be used upside down to distribute its foamy mousse. Spread the velvety fresh texture onto those specific problem areas and feel your skin soft and refreshed. Of course we would like to think that this is a magical product but it should be in addition to watching what we eat and a good fitness routine. This can only help.
Finally to extend the tan on my legs I spread on Fée-Moi Dorer (Make Me Golden). A hydrating self-tanner that also comes in the form of a foamy mousse. The result was soft skin with a natural, even tan.

I had the opportunity to try the STX Stem Cells Eye Mask from La Vallée Switzerland. It is a complete anti-aging product that addresses all the needs of the tired skin around the eye area. The mask has an immediate decongesting effect. Dark circles, puffiness and fine lines are immediately diminished.
My first reaction in opening the small pouch that keeps the thin fabric mask fresh is how generous the amount of product is offered in each mask. I smoothed it on over my cleansed eye area and relaxed for 10 minutes. La Vallée advises to leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes. This for me is a luxury and the fact that the mask is practically dripping with moisturising and anti-ageing active ingredients, I was confident that 10 minutes were enough. After this time I removed the mask and let the surplus be absorbed by a tissue. I then finished my eye treatment with La Vallée STX-CELLs Rejuvenating Eye Cream. My eye area was brighter, relaxed and more refreshed after use.
